DEVELOPMENT OF MEASURES AIMED AT PREVENTING AND/OR COMPENSATING FOR POSSIBLE HARMFUL IMPACTS ON WILDLIFE AND/OR THEIR HABITAT ENVIRONMENT FOR ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGED IN INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES (CONSTRUCTION, DEVELOPMENT, RECONSTRUCTION, ETC.) IN NATURAL ECOSYSTEMS.

Purpose

The purpose of the development is relevant for organizations of all forms of ownership, as a mandatory condition for carrying out industrial activities in natural ecosystems is the minimization and/or compensation of possible harmful impacts on wildlife and their habitat environment in accordance with Article 23 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Wildlife».

Description

— Based on the assessment of the fauna and flora species, the biological diversity of invertebrates and vertebrates is evaluated in the conditions of ecosystems affected by anthropogenic activities.

— The impact of certain industrial activities on the indicators of the state of fauna and flora is determined.

— Measures are developed to minimize the damage inflicted on the fauna and flora.

— The amount of compensatory payments for damage to wildlife is determined in cases where the implemented measures are not feasiblе.

Technical and Economic Benefits of the Development

— Conducting field studies to account for animal species directly on the land plots used for industrial activities.

— Many years of experience in studying the state of zoocenoses in ecosystems affected by anthropogenic activities (work has been carried out since 2019).

— Execution of approximately 300 direct economic contracts for such types of activities with organizations engaged in industrial activities within natural ecosystems (BelNIPIneft RUP “Belorusneft”, JSC «Gomeltransneft Druzhba», Institute «Belgiprotopgas», LLC «BelEvroTrubPlast», KUPUP «Gomeloblteplotset», RUЕ «Gomelenergo» Gomel Republican Unitary Electricity Enterprise “Gomelenergo”, Gomel branch of RUE telecommunication «Beltelcom», OJSC «Belselenergosetstroy», OJSC «Khimremont», and others).

The economic benefits of this development include carrying out all stages of work for the development of specific measures, taking into account the specifics of the object affecting the state of zoocenosis, with the aim of preventing and/or compensating for potential harmful effects on wildlife and their habitats. The proximity of the performing organization to the location of the research reduces the cost of the work conducted.
